Welcome
to our website. We’re glad you stopped
by.
I am privileged to serve as the principal at Anne M. Jeans Elementary
School. We are very proud of our world-class school and we love
to share all the great things that are happening here. We are proud
of so many of our wonderful accomplishments: our academic achievements,
our school and community events and the respect that we show everyday
for our school, our teachers and our friends. We invite you to
visit our school and see first hand the world-class things that
are happening at Anne M. Jeans Elementary School.
Anne M. Jeans Elementary School is a high quality learning
community with students in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten,
1st, 2nd, 3rd,
and 4th grade. Our student body is made up of approximately
400 students who are educated by 55 world-class teachers. We
value
the diversity found at Anne M. Jeans. Our diversity and the
many learning opportunities truly make Anne M. Jeans what it
is…a
school of world-class excellence focused on preparing learners
of all ages for the future. There are over 30 languages spoken
by families in our school. We are so proud of ALL the backgrounds
represented here
We are fortunate to be situated in the southeastern portion of
DuPage County in the western suburbs of Chicago. The Chicagoland
area is a wonderful place to live and go to school. We have the
conveniences and cultural arts opportunities of a large city while
our small school size and high level of support by families makes
it feel as though our school is in a small town.
Upon entrance to our school, you’ll see students learning
and individuals showing respect for the ideas and actions of
others. We are lucky to have a family feel to our school climate
and the
members of our learning community know that we would have only
a fragment of our success without the valuable contributions
of all members of our learning community, young and old. We
are committed
to consistently providing a climate where individuals feel
valued, ideas and actions are noticed and celebrated, and students
are
succeeding academically.
To continually nurture the academic success of our students,
we focus on a solid foundation of a core curriculum and supplement
it with numerous enrichment opportunities and a variety of
ongoing educational experiences. It is our goal to prepare
children for
their future roles as contributing citizens in a democratic
society. We continue to strive to provide challenging curricular
opportunities
to encourage the development of successful problem-solving
skills and afford students many opportunities to think critically.
Ultimately,
these efforts will create and instill a genuine love of learning
for all of our students.
We value academic achievement and ethics and behavior equally.
Good citizens who make good decisions and treat each other
fairly learn better than other types of students. We utilize
the Character
Counts program to constantly remind our students and their
families what we expect in our learning community. We expect
all members
of our learning community to learn within the six pillars of
ethical values: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility,
fairness, caring,
and citizenship. The character counts program allows all members
of our learning community an opportunity to treat others well
and treat themselves well also. For more information on this
program,
please visit: www.charactercounts.org
We
are so fortunate to have a tremendous amount of parent involvement
at Anne M. Jeans. Parents and community members, including
our older neighbors and friends, volunteer hours of their time
to
contribute to or business of educating young people. We are
extremely proud
of the collective efforts of our community stakeholders. Even
with all this support, we can never have enough visitors or
helpers when working with such young children. If you are interested
in
visiting and helping at Anne M. Jeans, we would be thrilled
to
have you. Please contact me at dleblanc@ccsd180.org or contact
our Parent Teacher Council by clicking on the link at the right.
Anne M. Jeans Elementary School is truly a world-class learning
environment. The learning community members work very hard
to make sure that everyone at Anne M. Jeans is always learning.
If you’re
interested in learning with us as a visitor or a new family,
please contact me at dleblanc@ccsd180.org. I would be pleased
to provide
a tour of our building. I am always willing to “show
off” our
world-class learners here at Anne M. Jeans.
Thank you for visiting our website and enjoy the remainder
of your visit.
